Testosterone Therapy Vs Steroids
Many people still have this wrong perception that testosterone therapy and performance enhancers or steroids are the same. They are not. Supplements or anabolic steroids taken by athletes and body builders may contain testosterone or substances the mimic the effect of testosterone, but the level is not the same as that in testosterone replacement therapy.
Steroids contain large doses of testosterone. They are too high that sometimes it reaches the prohibited levels. Athletes also take them with other chemicals and supplements in order to increase the effect. As a result, they grow extremely big muscles that can’t be achieved when you are only taking testosterone replacement treatment as its dosage is only aimed at the normal level. In a nutshell, testosterone replacement therapy dosage is controlled at safe levels, and anabolic steroids are not.
